Chris Beason is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a Bachelors and Masters degree in Music Education where he not only marched with the Marching Illini but conducted and assisted the Athletic Bands and a concert band as a graduate student. Chris went on to direct the Mater Dei High School bands where they achieved top ratings and achievements in the concert, jazz and marching fields. Chris recently became the director of bands at the Quincy Public Schools where he directs 9 cancert, jazz and marching bands in addition to assisting 4 others. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he designs field shows for marching bands of all sizes around the country. Chris has been with Smith Walbridge for several years and will instruct the drill writing classes for directors and drum majors in addition to instructing various marching and techniques classes.
